Content

Since the winter of 2005/2006, the lecture series "Image and Sound" has brought the university into the city; the City Church of St. Reinoldi has become a lecture hall. The space of the church and the works of art are not simply a backdrop, but repeatedly come into view: as the subject of the lecture, but sometimes also as a counterpart for other images and sounds that do not seem to belong in the space. The evenings open up insights into the interdisciplinary conversation between art history, musicology and historiography. In this way, the lecture series pursues an innovative concept of science mediation, which at the same time draws attention to the city's places of memory.

Image and Sound Winter Semester 2022/23

Images and Sounds of War and Peace Since 2005, the public lecture "Image and Sound" has opened up resonating spaces on changing themes in a conversation between art history, musicology and history and its location, the Stadtkirche St. Reinoldi. The winter semester 2022/2023 is - out of the need and obligation to better understand and responsibly shape the present in the mirror of historical memories and research, myths and narratives, art and music - under the heading "Images and Sounds of War and Peace".
