With family justice, we ensure the best study and working conditions: Family-friendly actions enable researchers with families to plan their careers more reliably, students with families complete their studies more successfully, and international guests with families are welcome.

Guidelines for a family-friendly TU Dortmund:

  1. TU Dort­mund Uni­ver­sity believes that family orientation is a criterion for the quality of uni­ver­si­ty operations in re­search, teaching and administration.
     
  2. family-friendly measures are intended to support students and employees of TU Dort­mund Uni­ver­sity in being able to combine the res­pon­si­bi­li­ty for children and family mem­bers with studies and work.
     
  3. TU Dort­mund Uni­ver­sity is committed to doing all it can to help students with children and family responsibilities to achieve their study goals while taking into account their family circumstances. It also promotes the discussion of questions of simultaneous family and career planning throughout the entire period of study.
     
  4. Within the frame­work of re­search operations - especially with regard to young sci­en­tists - work processes and structures are designed in such a way that an easy and flexible reconciliation of work and family is possible. Above all, attention is paid to increasing the plannability of scientific careers in order to facilitate the conditions for starting a family.
     
  5. Overall, the TU Dort­mund lives the conviction that uni­ver­si­ty operations in re­search, teaching and administration are designed in such a way that family orientation is taken into account as an essential frame­work condition in all planning, realization and control processes. It is im­por­tant to sensitize for family orientation, to think about it and to promote it.
