Netzwerk Queer* Peers (Network Queer* Peers)
On August 13, 2019, seven employees from science, administration and technology at TU Dortmund University founded a new TU Dortmund University network called "Queer* Peers TU - The Network of Queer* Employees at TU Dortmund University".
The network is aimed at all TU Dortmund employees who want to gather under the term "queer" and feel that the term means them.
The network sees its tasks in,
- to increase the visibility of queer* employees at TU Dortmund University and to provide an exchange platform for them.
- provide peer support and advice for queer* employees at TU Dortmund University.
- to influence the TU with queer* expertise, to advise organizational units or individuals as needed, and to raise awareness for the concerns of queer* people
- to coordinate and, if necessary, cooperate with other queer* actors within and outside TU Dortmund University.
Diversity management at TU Dortmund University involves actively shaping diversity and proactive anti-discrimination. The Staff Unit Equal Opportunities, Family and Diversity strengthens the culture of diversity at TU Dortmund University. It develops, implements and supports strategies, instruments and measures to improve equal opportunities and family friendliness. For this reason, the Office will coordinate the network.
Initially, the network will meet twice a semester. The network uses Confluence and a mailing list for exchange and meets every first Wednesday - currently online - for a joint lunch.
