Children eat with you

Free children's menu

The Studierendenwerk provides children of students at TU Dortmund University, Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts, and FH Südwestfalen with a free lunch every day.

This offer applies to children up to the age of ten. You can choose between the canteens on the North and South Campus (main canteen, Archeteria, kostBar), the facilities in Sonnenstraße or Max‑Ophuels‑Platz, or one of the canteens at FH Südwestfalen in Iserlohn, Meschede, Hagen, or Soest.

Upon presentation of a children's canteen card, the children's meal is free of charge, provided the accompanying person purchases a full meal themselves.

In the Dortmund main canteen at Campus North, children can choose between the dish of the day, the two optional meals, the vegetarian or vegan dish or the vegetable, pasta and salad buffet. In all other restaurants, children can choose freely between the hot meals and the dishes at the buffet. Please make sure that you only take child-sized portions at the buffet!

To make the little guests feel welcome in the canteens, 600 colorful and shatterproof children's plates were purchased. The individual motifs emerged from a painting competition at the Studierendenwerk's daycare center, the "Kita im Grünen" (until February 2017: Kita "4 Jahreszeiten"), on the theme of "My favorite food". The idea for the "children's plate" was developed in collaboration with the TU Dortmund University's staff unit and the Dortmund University of Applied Sciences' Family Service, with funding provided by the Studierendenwerk Dortmund.

Canteen opens play corner

Once again, children are very welcome at the Studierendenwerk! From now on, little guests have their own area in the main canteen. In the new "children's corner", colorful seating and a few toys await the youngest. The new furniture is designed to give parents the chance to enjoy their meal in peace.
