Childcare

The Family Service provides advice and information about possible childcare options on campus, in the city of Dortmund, and beyond the city limits. There are a total of three large daycare centers at the North and South Campuses. Up to 27 children from two months to 3 years of age can be cared for here. In addition, HoKiDo e. V. (parents' initiative) offers care for children from two months of age in the immediate vicinity of the North Campus. Within walking distance of the South Campus, the Studierendenwerk Dortmund operates the Kita im Grünen, which can care for up to 120 children from the age of 4 months until they start school.

To apply for a childcare place on campus or in other municipal facilities, parents who live in Dortmund must register in the city's daycare portal. TU members are advised to mention their TU affiliation in the comments on the childcare request (a field by the desired childcare facility) and to use the TU Dortmund e-mail address. For families living in other municipalities, the respective allocation guidelines of the place of residence apply.

Childcare facilities on the TU campus

A total of six daycare parents operate the three large daycare centers on the North and South Campuses. The self-employed day care parents offer 27 day care places for children aged 2 months to three years.
