Between School and Worries: Caring for family members often catches people completely off guard. Organizing the caregiving situation is a challenge. For many caregivers, juggling school and caregiving is a balancing act. Communication with one another is therefore important so that no one feels left alone.
  • Do you help your grandparents with their daily routine?
  • Do you help your partner when they’re sick or need care? Do you schedule doctor’s appointments for your parents?
  • Do you take care of your child who needs care?
  • And you’re doing all of this while you’re in school?

If these responsibilities sometimes feel overwhelming or you’d simply like to talk to others in similar situations, the Student Care Support Group is the perfect place for you.

Starting in November 2025, an online Care Support Group for Students will take place every second Tuesday of the month from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. This program is a collaboration between care navigator Ulrike Grates from TU Dortmund University, care navigator Sonja Wentzel from FH Dortmund, and the Dortmund Self-Help Contact Center.

The online care support group meets every second Tuesday of the month from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. No prior registration is required.
