Prof. Dr. Ulrike Lembke is a freelance legal scholar and an expert in gender studies, anti-discrimination law and gender-based violence. She is also a judge at the Constitutional Court of the State of Berlin. In her lecture on October 29 at TU Dortmund University, she will shed light on the legal aspects of sexual harassment in academic contexts.

we cordially invite you to the guest lecture by Prof. Dr. Ulrike Lembke on the topic "Gender, hierarchies and respect: A legal perspective on sexual harassment at the university".

Her lecture will focus on the legal debate on sexual harassment at universities. The following questions, among others, will be addressed:

  • What is the relationship between abuse of power and sexual harassment and violence at universities?
  • What legal frameworks exist to counter sexual harassment at universities and what options for action are available to those affected?
  • What legal and institutional measures are suitable for promoting a culture of respect and safety at universities?

All members of TU Dortmund University are invited. Registration is not required. The event will be subtitled in German and English.

Ulrike Lembke is a freelance legal scholar, an expert in gender studies, anti-discrimination law and gender-based violence, and a judge at the Constitutional Court of the State of Berlin.

The event is based on a cooperation between the Equal Opportunities Team of the FK12, the Equal Opportunities Office, the Working Group on Abuse of Power and the Central Counseling Centre for Protection against Discrimination and Sexualized Violence (SchuDS) of TU Dortmund University.
