How can universities effectively counter antisemitic ideologies? The new training course offered by the Hochschulübergreifende Fortbildung NRW (HÜF) teaches tried-and-tested prevention and intervention approaches and transfers them to the university context. Participation is free of charge and no prior knowledge is required.

Antisemitism is a problem in many areas of society and is also noticeable at universities. The training module "What helps? Best practices against antisemitism in the university context" is aimed at employees at universities in North Rhine-Westphalia and does not require any prior knowledge. The aim is to strengthen confidence in taking action and to learn concrete strategies for prevention and intervention.

The focus is on antisemitic ideologies and the question of how to respond appropriately to antisemitic incidents.

The module presents tried-and-tested methods - from school projects and educational programs to social media campaigns - and discusses their transferability to everyday university life.

Participants can expect a varied program with

  • a simulation game on dealing with anti-Semitic statements at university,
  • the presentation of educational materials,
  • opportunities to network with initiatives and specialist departments,
  • as well as input phases, individual and group exercises.
