Babysittingpool at TU Dortmund University

As a family-friendly university, we understand that life as a student and/or employee can often be demanding and time‑consuming. Balancing work, studies, and family responsibilities is not always easy. To support members of the university community, the Family Service has established a babysitting pool. This service is designed to help students and staff of TU Dortmund University organize additional childcare. The babysitting pool enables parents to get in touch with suitable babysitters quickly and easily.

 

Babysitter placement

The Family Service is currently building a pool of babysitters. The aim is to provide university members with quick and uncomplicated support in situations where childcare is needed. The Family Service manages the relevant contacts and facilitates communication between parents and babysitters.

Parents who are interested can contact the Family Service with their childcare request. The Family Service forwards the request to the babysitting pool and arranges contact between potential babysitters and the parents. Parents and babysitters negotiate contractual and financial conditions individually.

In addition to regular childcare, babysitters may also offer homework supervision or tutoring in specific subjects, depending on the arrangement.

Become a babysitter

The Family Service is looking for suitable babysitters to join the babysitting pool.

Prerequisites for joining the babysitting pool ideally include practical experience in childcare, enjoyment in working with children, and a short personal meeting with the Family Service. Students of TU Dortmund University as well as other interested individuals may join the babysitting pool after the initial interview.
