A corkboard with a large, diagonally positioned white strip bearing the word ‘Workshop’ in black capital letters. Beneath it reads: ‘Awareness-raising in a university context for members of all student representative councils’. At the bottom centre is a white sticky note with symbols for a calendar and a clock, along with the details: ‘25 Aug 2026’, ‘10:00–13:30’, ‘TU Dortmund’. To the left is a green, heart-shaped cartoon character wearing white gloves and trainers, who is holding an orange heart in her hands and holding it out with a smile. © Nicole Jansen/TU Dortmund
How can student councils help ensure that all students feel comfortable and (more) safe in their classes? Answers to this question will be provided by the target-group-oriented workshop on awareness in a university setting on August 25, 2026.

Are you a member of the student council but don’t know anything about awareness (yet)? No problem! Just sign up for the workshop on awareness-raising in a university setting:

August 25, 2026

10 a.m.–1:30 p.m.

@TU Dortmund University Campus

What to expect:

  • Basics of awareness: definitions, principles, and key terms
  • Understanding discrimination and raising awareness of different forms of exclusion
  • Developing strategies for a discrimination-sensitive university culture
  • Concrete ways to address discriminatory behavior and support people who experience discrimination
  • Practical Approaches: How Can We Implement Awareness in Student Council Work?

Whether you already have experience with awareness work or are new to the topic, you are warmly invited to attend.

The workshop is free of charge and is organized by the Central Counseling Center for Protection Against Discrimination and Sexualized Violence (SchuDS) in collaboration with the “Awareness in Student Councils” working group of the student councils.
